Obituary of Annie Stojkovich
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Annie Stojkovich (née Brkljacic), who left us peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the age of 85. Annie was the cherished wife of the late John Stojkovich and a devoted mother to Michael Stojkovich and Roseanne Dominic and son-in-law Peter. She will be deeply missed by her grandson, Dustin Dominic (Gillian Saracino), great-granddaughter Hazel, nephews Boris (Blazenka) Martinic, Frank Boldin and nieces Kathy Steers and Carol (Nick) Bozicevic. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mildred Brkljacic, and her sister, Mary Steers (Tom).
Annie had a profound love for music and her Croatian heritage. She was an active member of the Croatian folk orchestra (LADO Tamburica Club) whom she sang with for many years. She also had a passion for dancing, with the waltz, polka, and tango being some of her favourites.
Above all, Annie cherished her family. Her unwavering love and dedication to her two children, her grandson, and her great-granddaughter were the cornerstones of her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and selflessness that will remain with us forever.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the entire medical, nursing, and support staff at the long-term care facility (ILTC) in Welland for their care and compassion over the years while she was a resident.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 827 East Main St., Welland, ON. As per Annie’s wishes, a private service has taken place. Memorial donations can be made in Annie's memory to the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
